“My mom has a Ford Focus, my grandmother had a Fiesta, and my dad’s had Ford trucks since before I was born.” Steven Green recalls this with a knowing grin, as if to say that when you come from a Ford family, you stay that way.
Employed by a geotechnical engineering company in Ontario, Steven’s been a proud Ford F-150 STX owner himself since 2011. He knows it’s a versatile, rugged machine that he likes equipping with tons of helpful features and optional accessories. He trusts his Ford completely.
Since talking with hundreds of F-150 owners just like Steven, we always hear the same thing: it’s not just about being practical; there’s something about owning a Ford that runs deeper than that.
With equal parts nostalgia and excitement, he describes the memories of growing up around Ford trucks—of driving around with mom and dad back when they owned an ’89 F-150 XLT.
“My dad always had F-150s,” Steven recalls. “You remember as a kid—riding in a truck is one of the coolest experiences you can have.” Even back then, he knew he wanted an F-150 too.
But when Steven shows us his truck, you can tell it’s definitely not his dad’s F-150.
“The Ford Sync feature always gets comments,” he says, explaining how it allows him to safely speak on his phone while driving. “I just press this button right here, and I can talk right through the speaker system.” Sync isn’t just convenient; it’s also safe.
Like most F-150 owners, Steven loves the truck’s versatility. We’re talking all of his work tools in the bed, hauling around ATVs on the weekend, and everything in between. “My favourite thing is its six and a half foot box,” he explains with that same grin, pointing out how it’s perfect for moving around beds and couches. Soon he’ll be helping a coworker move with his F-150. As most truck drivers know, it’s probably not the first—or the last—time for Steven.
The F-150 really does it all, and it’s that passion for versatility and freedom that always sets truck owners apart from the crowd. Are you a Ford truck owner? Share your story on our Facebook page or the in the comments below.
