Torque enthusiasts take heed; the 2017 Ford F-150 offers goliath towing strength, a perfect storm of torque and horsepower that’s ideal for heavy-duty work. That’s why we developed the second generation 3.5-Litre EcoBoost V6 with the needs of our most demanding customers in mind. Whether you’re towing campers, boats, or other vehicles, the 2017 F-150 just gets the job done

The second generation 3.5-Litre EcoBoost V6 engine on the 2017 F-150 generates segment-leading torque, and when paired with the all-new 10-speed automatic transmission delivers all-around improved performance and acceleration. The engine produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb/ft of torque; that’s a gain of 10 horsepower and 50 lb/ft from the previous 3.5-Litre EcoBoost engine. The improved engine makes light of tough hauls with its improved performance both off the line all the way through the full transmission range so that heavyweight payloads and towing heavy trailers are made easier.

“The 2017 Ford F-150 now delivers the best torque in the segment,” says Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, Product Development, and chief technical officer. “This class-leading torque arrives with a transformative 10-speed automatic that improves nearly every aspect of F-150 performance.”

Thanks to Ford’s innovative engineering, the second-generation 3.5-Litre EcoBoost V6 engine came out on top when compared “tow-to-tow” with other engines in its segment. The engine is best-in-class for delivering torque, toppling all diesel-powered and gasoline-powered competitors, including V8 engines with nearly twice the displacement.

F-150 is no stranger to the cutting edge; building upon the success of the 2.7-Litre EcoBoost and first-generation 3.5-Litre EcoBoost, the latest 3.5-Litre EcoBoost V6 engine, with segment-leading torque, is paired exclusively with the first volume-production 10-speed automatic transmission available to consumers from any automaker. It remains the first – and only – vehicle in its segment to offer a twin-turbo gasoline engine.

Torque gives your truck the power to work, and the best-in-class torque from Ford’s second generation 3.5 Litre V6 engine gives your 2017 F-150 all it needs to take on the toughest challenges you can throw at it.
