Many of us lead very busy lives, and some days can be difficult. There’s no time for us to catch our breath or chill out in front of the TV. We’re too busy to meet up with friends for dinner or see a film. But for some of us, staying busy is a lifestyle, fuelled by passion. That certainly describes Cindy Cloutier of Mont-Laurier, Quebec. Her days are filled with family, work, keeping fit and indulging her passion for horses. Luckily, she has a Ford F-Series Super Duty to help her take on all the challenges that life sends her way.
Like horses and farming, Ford trucks are a passion that’s handed down from generation to generation. Cindy is proud to drive a 2014 Super Duty F-450 Lariat. Her brother also has a Ford, as did their father and grandfather before them. The Super Duty is perfect for handling tough jobs around the farm. Cindy doesn’t stop for a break very often, and even though she gets tired sometimes (don’t we all), she wouldn’t change her life for anything in the world. She’s a determined woman who never backs down from a challenge and always reaches her goals. She’s driven around the US in her Super Duty and excelled in the barrel races. She also won the championship at the St-Tite Western Festival in 2015.
Cindy’s Ford truck accompanies her, her mother and her daughter from rodeo to rodeo. Cindy racks up nearly 40,000 km per year just to take part in competitions. Each time, she brings along a trailer that includes a living space, along with room for her horses. All in all, she hauls close to 10 tons across Canada and the US. And thanks to the unbeatable power of her Power Stroke diesel engine, she pulls it off easily, even when going up hills.
Cindy’s family is central to her accomplishments. Her three-year-old daughter accompanies her on various equestrian adventures, while her boyfriend, who’s also a teacher, lives his passion alongside her. According to Cindy, taking care of horses is very demanding, especially in the case of her champion mare Aligria, who’s also known for being strong-minded. Fortunately, Cindy can rely on the invaluable assistance of her mother, who works as a respiratory therapist and runs the farm with Cindy. Their schedule is jam-packed with things to repair, hay to bale, horses to brush, fences to fix and a million other tasks. Sure sounds like a lot of work!
Whether it’s her family, her students or her horses, Cindy likes for everyone to give it their best shot. She’s well aware that if you want to inspire others, there’s nothing better than setting an example yourself. That’s why you’ll find her jogging, horseback riding or driving her Super Duty. She’s the perfect example of someone who shows unbeatable determination and who never gives up.
