It was a chilly Saturday morning in late April on the shores of Lake Ontario in Oakville, Ont., but that didn’t seem to be showing on anyone’s faces at Coronation Park. Amidst the running shorts and gloves, there was a sense of purpose shared by everyone. For the second year, Ford of Canada teamed up with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to host the 5 km Ford Race to End Diabetes. The turnout was fantastic, with almost 400 people raising more than $40, 000 – even more than last year!
A sizable group of Ford employees from Oakville came out to the event to show their support. Some cheered from the sidelines while others stretched their legs before taking part in the run. Even local council member Pam Damoff had her running shoes strapped on!
The cold couldn’t stop the fun, as you can see in the video above! Special thanks to Amanda and Jacob from JDRF, and Bob from Ford Canada for letting us follow them around throughout the day!
