Summer is almost finished, but who said it’s the end of travelling season?

Whether you’re enjoying a romantic escape or a family vacation, it’s always nice to discover new places. We took the brand new 2013 Flex to the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec to uncover some of the must-see spots in the region.

It was a big challenge: travel all-around Gaspé in only 5 days. While this was a short time frame for such a vast space, we still had time to enjoy many unforgettable places where the people were welcoming and the food amazing.

We began our trip at Reford Gardens to admire its natural beauty and get some circulation back to our legs. Founded in 1926 by Elsie Reford, this magnificent garden now has more than 3000 species. It’s a nice place to have a meal and enjoy some special events.

After this visit, we checked out the wind turbines in Cap-Chat, an impressive site and home of Revolutions Cap-Chat, a uniquely French Canadian electronic music festival. You can also see the tallest vertical-axis wind turbine in the world. It’s worth the drive!

Rocher Percé

And what would a trip to Gaspé be without going to the Parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Roché-Percé, with its famous rock and the abundant fauna of the Bioparc? During our visit, we saw some otters, foxes and moose! It’s an activity enjoyable by both young and the old.

Finally, we ended our busy trip in Carleton-sur-Mer where we fell in love with the welcoming locals. Along with eating like kings and queens, we visited Mont-Saint-Joseph, a real paradise for hiking enthusiasts.

With all this traveling, the Flex’s extras made for a smooth ride! From the navigation (perfect to find all those little restaurants), or the Adaptive Cruise control (our best friend on a long road), to the comfort of the seats, this ride was ideal for our road trip! Plus, we had the chance to listen to our own music from our iPod, thanks to SYNC!
